VERED KOREN – Director, Music & Brand Partnerships
Vered Koren is the founder and head of EMI Music Canada’s Brand Partnerships department. Her role is to build, lead and execute strategic multi-platform partnerships between EMI artists and consumer brands across Canada and the globe. Vered has developed sponsorships, endorsements, digital music programs and unique experiences for brands such as Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Joe Fresh, RBC, Quaker, Maple Leaf Foods and Victoria’s Secret. These brand campaigns have featured a range of EMI artists including Katy Perry, Johnny Reid, Norah Jones, Jarvis Church, Barenaked Ladies, and Kylie Minogue.
Prior to EMI, Vered served as Vice President of Content and Business Development at Hip Digital Media where she was responsible for all licensing activities including the acquisition of digital music licenses from all 4 major records labels in Canada, the U.S., and the U.K. Vered also led Hip’s business development efforts acquiring and managing countless B2B online music initiatives for world-class brands such as Pepsi, Toyota, Wrigley’s, and Cineplex.
Before joining Hip Digital, Vered worked with Moontaxi Media where she inhabited various content and management roles for Moontaxi’s background … music and web streaming services. She was a key player in the launch of Puretracks.com, Canada’s first digital music download service. She went on to manage Puretracks’ music and editorial operations as well as record label relations and licensing initiatives.
Prior to her entrance into digital media, Vered worked in both radio and television as a Producer, Writer, and Host for a variety of productions. Most notably, she worked for Shaw Communications in both local television production and national marketing. In 2002, she received recognition as an innovative video producer for her work in short form animation, screening her work at national film festivals in Toronto and Montreal. Vered holds an Applied Arts Degree in Radio and Television Arts from Ryerson University and a Communications Degree from the University of Calgary.
